MARSHALL, Minn. - Defending national champion Wisconsin Whitewater took a pair of games from Southwest Minnesota State in the Mustangs' season opener, picking up 72-46 and 71-40 wins on Friday night in Marshall, Minn.
UWW improves to 2-0, while SMSU drops to 0-2.
SMSU was led by
Nathan Carruth in both games as the senior had 16 and 15 points, respectively.
The Mustangs are back in action on Nov. 21 at the UWW Tournament.
