Stadler Named All-NSIC Second Team

ST. PAUL, Minn.
- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced today that Southwest Minnesota State senior Megan Stadler has been named All-NSIC second team.

Stadler, a 5-foot-5 guard from Sioux Falls, S.D., had a record-breaking season for the Mustangs in 2009-10.  She set the SMSU single-season record for assists with 167 and also broke the single-game record for assists when she handed out 14 against Minnesota, Crookston on Feb. 6.  Stadler finished her career ranked second all-time in assists at SMSU with  474.

The senior led the NSIC in assists per game this season, averaging 6.3 per contest.  She was also second in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio, dishing out 2.38 assists for every turnover.  Nationally, Stadler currently ranks fifth in assists (6.2/game) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.32).

Stadler averaged 8.4 points per game and led the Mustangs in 3-point field goal percentage (.358) in 2009-10.

SMSU finished the 2009-10 season with an overall record of 15-12, notching its first winning season since 2004-05.  The Mustangs were 9-11 in conference play and finished ninth in the final NSIC standings.
