MARSHALL, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State will host the 33rd Annual National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament this weekend as seven of the nation's top teams will battle for the 2010 national championship in the R/A Facility.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Home runs from #Amy Dreessen# and #Amanda Neumann# led Southwest Minnesota State to a 6-3 victory over the New York Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.

SMSU improves to 7-6 and finishes its spring trip 4-5.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Dowling (N.Y.) erased a 5-0 deficit to defeat Southwest Minnesota State 9-5 Saturday morning at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.

Schunk snuck out a 7-6 decision over Chadron State's Jimmy Savala at 141 pounds. OMAHA, Neb. - Southwest Minnesota State wrestlers Brandan Schunk, CD Johnson and Brian Rodas all lost their opening matches of the NCAA II National Championships in Omaha, Neb.

Schunk lost 10-9 to Mario Morgan of Nebraska-Omaha at 141 lb., Johnson lost 6-3 to Tim Darling of Kutztown at 174 lb., while Rodas dropped a 5-2 decision to Charlie Alexander of Western State.

FLORENCE, Ariz. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team shot a second round team score of 308 on Thursday and finished second in the two-day, 36-hole Poston Butte Invite at Poston Butte G.C. in Florence, Ariz..  The Mustangs finished the event with a score of 631, nine shots behind champion Minnesota State (622).  Jaymie Halvorson of Minnesota State took home medalist honors with a 6-over-par 150.

SMSU had four players shoot rounds of sub-80 on Thursday, with KC Kane leading the way shooting an even-par 72 in the final round to finish with an 8-over-par 152, good for second place in the 34-player event.
