ST. PAUL, Minn. - No. 7 seed Metro State (Colo.) rallied from a 2-1 deficit and won the last two sets to earn a 3-2 victory (25-20, 16-26, 16-25, 25-23, 15-13) over No. 2 seed Southwest Minnesota State in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Central Region Tournament at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn., Thursday afternoon.

MARSHALL, Minn. - The No. 13-ranked Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team (25-7) received the No. 2 seed in the Central Region and will meet No. 7 seed and No. 20-ranked Metro State (Colo.) (24-7)  in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at 12 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn.

Series record:  It will be just the third meeting between SMSU and MSC on Thursday and second in as many years.  The Mustangs are 1-1 against the Roadrunners all-time; the last time the two programs met was, coincidentally, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament last season. Abens, a 5-foot-8 guard, is currently a senior at Knoxville High School where she is on pace to pass the 1,000-point mark.  A three-year all-conference and all-district performer, Abens owns her school's career record for three-pointers and is in the top-five in the state in the same category.  Last season, she was named all-state and led KHS to a top-10 finish in Iowa while averaging 14.4 points per game. Friday will be the fourth meeting between SMSU and SOC in a series that last saw action during the 1997-98 season. MARSHALL, Minn. - Redshirt freshman Jordan Miller scored a game-high 26 points in his first career game, including connecting on a record-tying eight three-pointers to lead No. 22 Southwest Minnesota State to a season-opening 86-59 victory over Dordt College (Iowa) on Tuesday night in Marshall.  The loss was the first of the season for Dordt and drops to 3-1 overall.

Miller scored 17 first half points and was a perfect 6 of 6 shooting from the field, including making five three-pointers to help the Mustangs erase a five-point deficit in the first half and take a commanding 51-25 halftime lead.
