Laughlin Named First Team Academic All-District

MARSHALL, MINN.: Southwest Minnesota State University junior Greg Laughlin has been named ESPN the Magazine first team Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The announcement came late Thursday evening.

It was the second year in a row he has been named Academic All-District after earning second team honors last spring.

The College Division District 5 team, which consists of student-athletes from NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA schools from the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana, was selected by sports information directors in the district.

Laughlin will now advance to the national ballot for a chance to be named Academic All-America.

NCAA D-II North Central Regional To Start at 12 Noon on Friday

EMPORIA, KAN.: After going through four pallets of drying agent and working the field since 6:30 a.m., the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament in Emporia has moved the start of games on Friday back an additional hour to 12 noon.

The tournament will restart with an elimination game between Minnesota State and Washburn at 12 noon. The games will follow a 2:15 schedule between games. Southwest Minnesota State will play at 2:15 p.m.
