MARSHALL, MINN. - Tickets for the upcoming 2009 Mustang Gold Rush Raffle, sponsored by the Southwest Minnesota State Mustang Booster Club, are now available. The sixth annual event will be held Feb. 20 at the SMSU Conference Center at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the event go towards student-athlete scholarships at SMSU.
The Mustang Gold Rush Raffle is a unique and fun event to help support a great cause. A ticket costs just $50 and includes a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000. The price of a ticket includes free beverages and hors d’oeuvres during the social hour from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The reverse raffle will then begin at 8 p.m., and that’s when the real fun begins. Once the raffle begins, all the tickets that have been sold will be displayed on the board and will be called out with the lucky individuals winning great prizes. The first and 100th number drawn each win $100, while the 300th number drawn wins $500. Other great prizes will also be given away for every 20th number drawn throughout the night.
The raffle gets real interesting when five lucky individuals are left. These individuals, who are in attendance or have selected to split on their ticket, can walk away with $1,000 each or hold out for the grand prize of $5,000!
