SMSU Men’s Basketball to Host Exhibition Game Tuesday Night

MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State men's basketball team will give fans an opportunity to see the 2009-10 in action this Tuesday, Nov. 3, with an exhibition game against NCAA Division III St. Olaf.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the R/A Facility.

Ticket prices for Tuesday's game are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.  SMSU students with a valid ID will be admitted free.  Season tickets will not be honored for this game. 

Fans interested in purchasing 2009-10 season tickets or upgrading to chairback seats at the R/A Facility can  do so on Tuesday night or can contact Rolly in the SMSU athletics department at 507-537-7985.

SMSU, under the direction of first-year head coach Brad Bigler, has 16 players on this year's roster with eight returning letterwinners.  The Mustangs finished the 2008-09 season with a 28-7 overall record and won both the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and NCAA Central Region championships.

SMSU, which was picked to finish fourth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll, returns three starters from last season's team, including seven of its top 10 scorers and has seven players returning who averaged at least 14 minutes per game a season ago.

Following Tuesday night's game, SMSU will play one more exhibition game on Monday, Nov. 9, hosting Gustavus at 7 p.m.  SMSU opens the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 17, hosting Dordt College (Iowa).
