MARSHALL, Minn. -
Southwest Minnesota State limited Bethel University to 24.6 percent shooting, while SMSU's Taylor Voss poured in a game-high 17 points to help lead the Mustangs to an 81-45 exhibition game victory on Saturday afternoon in Marshall.

The Mustangs had four score in double figures as Tori Fink had 13 points, Miley Hunziker finished with 12 and Lucia Puchelova added 11.

Megan Stadler dished out a game-high seven assists for SMSU in the win.

SMSU never trailed in the contest, taking as large as a 17-point lead just before the break.  The Mustangs settled on a 16-point advantage heading into the half.

That lead only grew in the second half as the Mustangs shot 50 percent from the field to stretch their advantage to 36 to close the contest.

SMSU drilled nine three-pointers in the game--six in the first half--and shot 42.9 percent from behind the arc.

The Mustangs also had 20 steals and didn't allow a single Royal to score in double figures.

SMSU opens the 2009-10 regular season on Friday, Nov. 20, hosting the SMSU Classic Presented by State Farm Insurance.  The Mustangs will face Truman State (Mo.) starting at 6 p.m.
