MARSHALL, Minn. - The SMSU Student Athletic Advisory Committee, in partnership with the NCAA, will be hosting a “Spare Change Drive” at the women's and men's basketball games versus Northern State on Saturday, Feb. 28, in the R/A Facility.
All NCAA Division II schools have joined together to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and this is one activity that many schools host. Every school in the NSIC has committed to raising a minimum of $1,000. This will be the second fund-raising event that the SMSU SAAC is holding to help reach that goal.
SMSU student-athletes will be located at the entrance to the gym and will also be walking through the stands collecting change from the fans. SAAC has added a twist to the Spare Change Drive by making it a competition between the male and female student-athletes to see who can raise the most money. Please come prepared to donate your spare change to this worthy cause. All donations will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
