Fall Kick-Off, Football Scrimmage Scheduled for Friday

MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State Mustang Booster Club will hosts its annual “Fall Kick-Off Picnic” in conjunction with the football program’s scrimmage this Friday, Aug. 21, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Regional Event Center. In addition to the picnic and scrimmage, the event will include a youth football clinic, community open house and autograph session with SMSU football players.
The youth football clinic will run from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is free for children through eighth grade. Participants will have a chance to work with current players on Mattke Field at the Regional Event Center. No registration is required.
The picnic and open house will begin at 5 p.m., and members of the Mustang Booster Club and top membership drive teams and individuals will be recognized.
The 2009 Mustangs will hit the field at 6:30 p.m. and conclude with an autograph session from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The kick-off is a chance for season-ticket holders to pick up their 2009 football and volleyball season tickets. It will also be an opportunity to upgrade football season tickets to “reserved” chairback seats.
