MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team opens its 2009 fall season this weekend at the Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D. The nine-team tournament, hosted by Augustana College, will be played at Bakker Crossing Golf Club.
First round play begins for SMSU on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 12:30 p.m. while second round play begins on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Schools also competing this weekend with SMSU include: Augustana, Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota State Mankato, MSU Moorhead, Northern State, St. Cloud State, Wayne State and Winona State.

Haley Gudim (Isle, Minn.), freshman
Katelyn Schwartz (New Ulm, Minn.) and freshman
Sarah Wahlstrom (Sheldon, Iowa) will play as individuals during the weekend.
Kane, the 2008-09 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Newcomer of the Year, led SMSU last season with an 81.2 stroke average in 20 rounds including three top five finishes and five top 10 finishes.
