MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team continues its 2009 fall season this Sunday and Monday, Sept. 20-21 at the 13-team Concordia University Invitational at Tartan Park Golf Club in St. Paul.
First round play begins for SMSU on Sunday afternoon starting at 12:16, while second round play begins on Monday morning with a 9:30 shotgun start.
The tournament field includes: Augustana, Bemidji State, Concordia-St. Paul, University of Manitoba, Minnesota State Mankato, MSU Moorhead, Missouri Western State, Nebraska-Omaha, St. Cloud State, Southwest Minnesota State, Upper Iowa, Wayne State and Winona State.
SMSU's five-person line-up will consist of sophomore
KC Kane (Buffalo, Minn.), senior
Melissa Lackas (Independence, Iowa), freshman
Krista Weiszhaar (Harwood, N.D.), junior
Sarah Baukol (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) and junior
Stephanie Bruns (Champlin, Minn.). Freshman
Haley Gudim (Isle, Minn.) will play as an individual.
SMSU began the 2009-10 season last weekend with a third place finish at the nine-team Augustana Invite in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Mustangs shot team scores of 319 and 308, while Kane and Lackas led SMSU with fourth place finishes with a score of 12-over-par 154.
Southwest Minnesota State will return home on Sept. 26-27, hosting the 12th annual Mustang Invite at the Marshall Golf Club.
