Stemen Says Goodbye, Bigler Introduced as Interim Head Men's Basketball Coach

MARSHALL, Minn. -
Former Southwest Minnesota State head men's basketball coach Greg Stemen said goodbye to a room full of fans, community members, co-workers and the media Wednesday afternoon as the winningest coach in school history stepped down from his post.  SMSU Director of Athletics Chris Hmielewski announced that former associate head coach Brad Bigler will serve as the interim head coach for the upcoming season.

Stemen resigned to take a position as a physician recruiter with Med Center One in Bismarck, N.D.

Brad Bigler, 30, begins his seventh season as a member of the SMSU coaching staff in 2009-10.  He spent two seasons as a graduate assistant (2003-05) before being elevated to full-time assistant coach prior to the 2005-06 season.  Bigler, who also served as recruiting coordinator, was named associate head coach prior to the 2006-07 season.

Bigler's duties begin immedaitely.
