ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS
MARSHALL, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State junior women’s basketball player
Laura Kramer has been named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V College Division second team.
The College Division District V team consists of student-athletes from NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA schools from the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. Sports information directors in the district select the all-academic team.
This marks the second straight year SMSU has landed a player on the Academic All-District Team; Abby Oakland was named third team last season.
Kramer, a 6-foot-2 center from Fulda, Minn., has compiled a 4.00 GPA while majoring in elementary education. She currently leads the team with a 7.6 rebounds per game average. Kramer, who averages 6.2 points per contest, also shoots 40.2 percent from the field and has posted two double-doubles this season.
SMSU (13-7, 7-6 NSIC) will host Minnesota State Moorhead and Minnesota, Crookston this weekend.
Southwest Minnesota State University is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
