MARSHALL, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State University Director of Athletics Chris Hmielewski announced that Brad Bigler has been named a finalist for the head men's basketball coaching position at SMSU.

Bigler has served as the program's interim head coach since Sept. 30, 2009, and helped lead the Mustangs to a 17-12 overall record and into the championship game of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament.

Bigler will have an open session with community members and media on Friday, April 2, from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the home of Steve and Carol Kruger's at at 1204 Evergreen Ave. in Marshall.  Bigler will also have an open session for SMSU faculty and staff on Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at a location to be announced on Thursday night.
