WAYNE, Neb. - Southwest Minnesota State University baseball players Cody Curry and Adam Schrader have been named to the 2010 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Central Region team as selected by the region's head baseball coaches.  Curry was named first team designated hitter, while Schrader was named second team pitcher.  Curry will advance to the national ballot for a chance at All-America honors.

It's the third postseason honor for both players this season.  Last week, Schrader was named first team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference; while Curry was named second team All-NSIC.  On Thursday, Curry was named first team Daktronics All-Region, while Schrader was named second team Daktronics.

Curry is just the ninth Mustang player in school history to earn first team ABCA All-Region honors.

Curry, a native of Alexandria, Minn., batted a team-high .424 and finished second on the team in doubles (15) and third in base hits (61).  A second team All-NSIC and first team Daktronics All-Region honoree, Curry also finished with three home runs, one triple and 26 RBIs.  In NSIC play, Curry finished second in batting average (.462), third in on-base percentage (.540) and fifth in doubles (15). 

Schrader, a native of Easton, Minn., finished with a 5-4 record, with a team-low 3.28 ERA in a team-leading 74 innings pitched.  A first team All-NSIC and second team Daktronics All-Region selection this season as well as SMSU's Pitcher of the Year, he led the team with 12 starts, while recording a team-high 62 strikeouts and tossing three complete games, including two shutouts.  Schrader ended his career as the program's all-time leader in strikeouts (244) and games started (48), while finishing second in innings pitched (262.2).

Southwest Minnesota State University is a member of NCAA Division II and is located in Marshall, Minn.  SMSU finished the 2010 season 29-18 overall, including 22-10 in the NSIC, tying for fourth place in the standings.  The 29 victories is the fifth highest in school history.  The Mustangs advanced to the championship game of the NSIC tournament before losing to Minnesota State 6-5.
