MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University Athletics Department and Preferred Loyalty Solutions introduced the new “Believe in Brown” Card to support SMSU athletics in the fall of 2011. The “Believe in Brown” Card gives supporters of SMSU athletics an opportunity to earn cash-back rewards, while benefitting the SMSU athletic scholarship fund through donations on purchases at nearly 20 participating merchants.

Tim Steinbach, SMSU Athletic Development Director. “The partnership allows anyone who uses the card to make a difference for SMSU Athletics, support area businesses and earn cash back on future purchases.”
The “Believe in Brown” card can be picked up free of charge at the SMSU athletic department, selected SMSU home athletic events and participating businesses (complete list below). To activate the card go to

Cardholders will earn cash-back rewards on all purchases made anywhere the card is accepted, while the rewards can be redeemed on future sales. On average, five percent of each transaction is automatically donated to the SMSU athletic scholarship fund. The card is also pre loaded with a cash value of more than $50.
There are no fees or hidden games with the new Mustang Rewards Believe in Brown Card or Preferred Loyalty Solutions. Cardholders are encouraged to build their rewards card balance and take advantage of the savings.
Activation of the card is required to access pre-loaded cash rewards from the card.
