MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University athletics department held the fourth annual Mustang Stampede 5K/10K Walk/Run to benefit SMSU women's athletics on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The event had 175 participants with all proceeds going towards the SMSU athletic scholarship fund. Jack Anundson was the male winner of the 5K run with a time of 19 minutes and 50 seconds, while Ashley Holm was the women's winner with a time of 20:05.
Mark Schnaser won the men's 10K run with a time of 37:49, with Holly Coates winning the women's 10K with a time of 50:16.
Participants could run/walk as an individual or join as a team. The team, Provost Posse - led by Jan Loft - raised the most funds, while US Bank of Marshall – led by Erica Bly - was the winner of the Marshall Area Business Challenge.
