Women's Cross Country

SMSU women's cross country places 10th at NSIC Championships

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's cross country team recorded 313 points and finished in 10th place at the 15-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships held Saturday at Yankton Trail Park.
 
Hannah Palmeter was SMSU's top finisher recording a 33rd place finish out of 135 runners in the 6k race, with a time of 22 minutes, 22 seconds.
 
Emilee Trost from Minnesota Duluth won the individual title with a time of 19:51. U-Mary captured the team championship with 33 points, with Minnesota Duluth finishing second with 47 points. 
 
SMSU's Kayla Jansky finished 59th with a time of 23:02, with teammates Jen Keohen placing 91st (24:12), Savannah Ramierez, 96th (24:48), Kristen Weber, 100th (24:56), McKenzie Besel, 102nd (25:06), Emily Coldren, 118th (26:15) and Lexi Grathwohl, 122nd (27:12).
 
SMSU returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the NCAA Region Championships held at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls.
