SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State University track and field teams completed action at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays on Saturday.
On Saturday, highlighting the day was
Alex Weis, who placed third in the shot put with a throw of 14.8 meters.
On Friday,
Will Hanson placed first in the javelin with a toss of 55.85 meters.
Alex Weis finished fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.43 meters, while
Jordan Flinn finished in ninth at 46.71 meters.
Weis also placed fifth in the discus with a toss of 47.22 meters with teammates
Josh Behning placing seventh at 45.63 meters and Will Rose ninth at 43.43 meters.
Chris Kveseth ran a 1:55.66 in the 800 meters to finish in eighth place.
For the SMSU women's team,
Sarah Mayfield recorded a 16
th place mark in the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.94.
Rhiannon Sears had a personal best toss of 39.76 meters in the hammer throw to finish 15
th.
SMSU will compete next weekend at the NSIC Championships in Sioux Falls
