ST. PAUL, Minn. - No. 7 seed Metro State (Colo.) rallied from a 2-1 deficit and won the last two sets to earn a 3-2 victory (25-20, 16-26, 16-25, 25-23, 15-13) over No. 2 seed Southwest Minnesota State in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Central Region Tournament at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn., Thursday afternoon.

MSCD now advances to the semifinals on Friday versus the winner of No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney/No. 6 Minnesota Duluth.

MARSHALL, Minn. - The No. 13-ranked Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team (25-7) received the No. 2 seed in the Central Region and will meet No. 7 seed and No. 20-ranked Metro State (Colo.) (24-7) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at 12 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn.

Series record: It will be just the third meeting between SMSU and MSC on Thursday and second in as many years. The Mustangs are 1-1 against the Roadrunners all-time; the last time the two programs met was, coincidentally, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament last season. In that contest, SMSU picked up a 3-1 win in St. Paul, Minn.
