INDIANAPOLIS- The fourth-ranked Southwest Minnesota State women's volleyball remains at No. 2 in this week's NCAA Central Region rankings that was released on Wednesday.
SMSU (25-3) went 2-0 last weekend to clinch a home playoff birth in Wednesday night's NSIC Tournament quarterfinal round where the Mustangs will host Upper Iowa beginning at 6 p.m.
Concordia-St. Paul remains in the top spot in this week's region rankings while Nebraska-Kearney (3) also stays in the same spot despite suffering a loss over the weekend.
Northern State (4), Minnesota Duluth (5), Central Oklahoma (6), and Winona State (7) also remain in the same rankings as last week.
Augustana (8) moved up from 10th into the final qualifying position for the Central Region Tournament after posting a 2-0 weekend to close out the regular season last week. Missouri Western (9) and Arkansas (10) rounded out this week's Central Region Rankings.
The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA region tournament on Nov. 30- Dec. 2. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA, Great American Conference (GAC) and NSIC postseason tournaments, with the remaining five spots awarded on an at-large basis.
