Five SMSU volleyball players named All-NSIC; Reiss named Player of the Year

BURNSVILLE, Minn.  The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced Thursday that five Southwest Minnesota State University volleyball players have received All-NSIC recognition while Taylor Reiss was named NSIC Player of the Year for a second straight season.

Reiss along with Brooke Borchardt, Kaylee Burmeister, and Megan Larson have each been named first team All-NSIC while Sarina Smith has been named second team All-NSIC as selected by the league's 16 head coaches.

A 2016 first team AVCA All-American, Reiss was also named Preseason NSIC Player of the Year prior to the start of the 2017 season. Reiss wins the NSIC Player of the Year honor for a second straight season and becomes the first SMSU volleyball player to ever win the award twice. She was also named NSIC Freshman of the Year in 2015.

This year marks the second straight season Larson has been named first team All-NSIC after also being named second team All-NSIC as a sophomore in 2015.
